Talk Description: While research on the nature and science of learning abounds, shockingly few insights into how and why humans teach have emerged—until now. This talk exposes the misguided, widely-held beliefs about teaching and unveils that teaching is in fact a cognitive evolutionary skill that develops in all humans over time.  Building from an accessible overview of how our brains learn, The Teaching Brain is a revolutionary new framework for teaching development in light of the new brain sciences; explains why we need teachers; and reveals what it actually takes to become a world-class teacher.
